The Story of Coo the Baby Crow

Day 3

Placed baby crow very near where we found her (we now think it’s a she) & made sure she’s visible to what we think are the parents.  Waited at a distance hidden 4 hours to see if they feed her. No luck.  We’re concerned re dehydration, its very hot + she must be fed every hour.

Worried if we don’t feed her she won’t be fed.  We decided to her back to the enclosure to be fed and protected overnight.

I’ve noticed she curls up and becomes quite relaxed in my hands immediately when I pick her up.  We have decided to call her “Coo” because of the gentle rhythmic cooing sounds she makes when I pick her up.

She has to be fed every hour from dawn to dusk.  So looks like another early day tomorrow. Not sure what to do if the parents don’t want to take care of her.  Had very bad experience with taking a sick duck to local wildlife “rescue.”  More research and discussion tonight.
